Conveniently, my scope can disply the frequency of whatever waveform it's
displaying. Here the frequency at which the reed switch was opening and
closing was 21.19 times/second. Multiplying by 60, that's 1270 RPM.
I can run the motor from something like 150 RPM all the way up to its
rated 7000 RPM.
