The 6" pulley on the saw was surprisingly hard to install. It really
seems like my particular bandsaw had a slightly oversized shaft -- I
had to thin it by a few thousandths with 400 grit emery cloth to get
the pulley on. (When used with a Shopsmith, there's a very specific
power takeoff adapter that's used. It may be that those are slightly
larger than 5/8"? Who knows.)
With the motor pulley mounted, I was able to install the 42" cogged
belt I'd ordered. And with that done, I was able to power up the
saw and cut the final pieces of planking for the top of the base.
