To mount the power switch and speed control, I made two pockets in
the tall leg extension. I did this before building the initial
frame, so that I could more easily put the piece on my drill press. I
made 9 holes with a 1" forstner bit for each pocket, and scraped
things a bit flat with a handheld chisel. The pockets are each 2"x2".
I used the pocket screw hole jig to help drill the angled exit holes for
the wires.
Tip: Be sure the leg extension is shorter than the bandsaw table.
Otherwise you'll eventually need to shorten it, and redo one of the
pockets. Like I did. :-)
