I used a 1-1/4" forstner bit to drill two holes precisely 7" apart. Happily,
the bandsaw slipped right in. The bridge is screwed to the frame from
above, as well as via pocket screws from below -- the bandsaw weighs over
40 pounds, and I wanted it securely fastened.
Note that because the mounting tubes aren't centered in the body of
the bandsaw, the bridge isn't centered in the base. To center the
bandsaw table on the stand, the mounting holes are 7.5" from the rear
of the frame, and 10.5" from the front. That leaves enough room for
the Shopsmith belt sander, as well, whose mounting is offset even
further than the bandsaw.
